TESCO to Release Exclusive Faithless Album

In a first for UK retailing, Tesco has struck a deal to exclusively release a brand new album from multi-million selling British dance act Faithless. The album, titled ‘The Dance’, will be released in store on CD and as a digital download from Tesco Entertainment on 17 May.

Rob Salter, Tesco Entertainment Director said: “It is has been our ambition to secure an exclusive music release like this for some time and we are thrilled to be working with such a popular and well respected artist.

We want to give our customers the very best in entertainment so it is a real coup for us to be able to offer Tesco shoppers an album you can’t get anywhere else. Just as we have moved into producing exclusive feature films this is a model for things to come in music. We hope to release three or four exclusive albums per year in future.”

‘The Dance’ contains 11 new songs, including the single ‘Not Going Home’, which is released on 3 May. The album sees Faithless return to their dance roots with a warm dynamic feel-good sound, with long time collaborator Dido once again featuring on guest vocals along with others.

Faithless have had seven top 10 singles, two number one albums and their greatest hits album has sold over 1.3million copies in the UK. They regularly sell out arenas globally, and this summer will be headliners at V Festival, T In The Park and Global Gathering with further appearances to be announced.

Tesco recently announced it was moving into movie production, partnering with Amber Entertainment to create exclusive feature films based on works from some of the world’s best selling authors.
