Today’s selection, featured on the Midday Show with Cheryl Waters, is “Coyote” by The Lonely Forest from their 2011 album Arrows available on Trans Records (out March 22).
Though it may not be time for the full moon yet, plenty of folks are howling in anticipation for the forthcoming full-length from The Lonely Forest. Today’s song is a sneak peak at what’s to come later this month from this pop perfect Anacortes band. After releasing their eponymous Chris Walla-produced EP last year, they seemed to have been destined for the stars. (And you could see it in their increasingly busy tour schedule.) Walla, a long-time supporter of local music who has worked with several hand-picked artists (most recently Telekinesis), recently took it a step farther and created an Atlantic Records imprint and signed these crooners who seem to be taking all this attention with two feet firmly planted on the ground even as their vocals and melodies soar.
You can catch The Lonely Forest at The Crocodile on April 12th as part of an extensive national tour. More dates and info can be found on their Myspace page.
